Business Economics Option

The Department’s Business Economics Option offers a major for students seeking a business orientation in their study of economics. It does not replicate the traditional undergraduate business school curriculum. Instead, it offers a more tightly focused and application-centered curriculum that is guided by the rigorous methods and integrative perspective of economics.

The BA in Economics (Business Economics) program prepares students with a broad foundation of business knowledge, management skills and proficiency in economic analysis for professional careers in the fields of manufacturing, mining, transportation, communications, banking, insurance, retailing and investment, as well as in governmental agencies, trade associations and consulting firms. It is also designed to prepare students for graduate education in business, economics, and law.
